| Quick start with LaTeX |
If you are working on the computers in the Department of Mathematics at Texas A&M University, you can get a quick start on mathematical document processing by using LyX, a visually-oriented document formatter that uses LaTeX as a back-end. It can export to PDF, for example.
Simply type lyx & at the command prompt in a terminal
window. The program comes with extensive online help.
